TAGGED: SHADIA/RED WORDS: ENOUGH tony smiled as he woke up that morning, it was just one of those days. his alarm didn't have to wake him up, and his coffee maker wasn't on it's alarm either. why? it was his day off. being the owner and main artist at the shop, it was tough finding a day off but he got it. every thursday he was free from any tattoo related responsibility. unless of course he wanted to start drawing anything up. after getting some food, showering, and getting ready for the day tony figured he'd get out of the house for a little bit. he walked out of the apartment building, heading over to his car and got himself situated. after getting in his car, putting on his rush cd and rocking out to the intro to tom sawyer tony was off and on his way to the strip where his shop was. as he pulled into the little lot, cigarette between his lips, tony ignored the looks he was getting from the few people outside as he sang along with the last chorus of the song. "what you say about his company is what you say about society!" he was no geddy lee, that's for sure. anyways, the boy got out of the car before locking it up. tony eyed the strip, seeing his shop with a small smile on his face. he thought about peaking in but then changed his mind, all he needed was to get caught up in there by people who are thinking about getting tattoos trying to get his opinion. tony walked down the strip, a big sign catching his eyes. crash bang boom records, he read the sign and shrugged his shoulders as he pulled the door open. as he walked in, he quickly made note of the music playing and began nodding his head along with it lightly. it was refugee by tom petty, tony really loved some tom petty and figured while he was in there might as well scan out the prices. he passed the cds, making his way for the vinyls. once he got there, he began rummaging through trying to find the tom petty records.

Boy London Shirt, standard dark jeans, grey beanie, cologne, and a leather jacket. It seemed fine for work so when he left, he just hung out for a couple of hours, talking to customers when they came in and humming along to the music. He loved owning this shop. It was pretty relaxed and he recognized a lot of the people. There were people who came in every other day to get new music. It was nice having people who liked his store and liked having chats with him. A lot of them knew Red was gay. It wasn't a secret. When people asked if he had a girlfriend, he normally said "I don't get girlfriends, I get boyfriends though." so people knew. He never really came out of the closet. He had always been out. Being gay in new york wasn't that big of a deal. At least no one really messed with Red about it. A couple kids in highschool made comments but he was so proud of who he was; what were the gonna do?
Red heard the bell of someone coming in. The boy just kind of looked around at everything. After a minute, Red hopped over the counter. His shop went like this; you walked in and to your right was a wall that was lined with music, to your left was the counter that went in an "L" shape and there were four rows of music. Red went to the row that was next to Tony's. Red glanced down at the music. "Tom Petty fan? Red asked, chuckling "Couldn't help but notice. I'm Red.". He normally wouldn't just start a conversation but he wanted to be a friendly owner.

tony noticed some one entering his personal space, but kept going through the records. however, when the person began talking to him tony politely turned his attention to them. he kept his eyes on the guy for a second, red was his name. tony didn't like the feeling he was getting in his stomach. and he didn't like the thoughts of how good looking this guy was in his head either. tony always knew he was gay he was just so afraid to come out, he feared his safety. growing up in the projects, kids got the shit kicked out of them for looking gay; tony watched the kids from his old neighborhood put a kid in the hospital for calling another boy cute. the images stuck with him, so now he just lived a lie. hooked up with girls at bars, parties, even just for whenever he was bored. he wouldn't go ahead and say he was ashamed of himself, but it was close. tony shook the thoughts from his mind, nodding with a smirk. "he's the man." he nodded. "i'm tony, i uh- i own olde company tattoo a few shops over." he flashed the guy a smile, before looking back down at the records as he waited for a reply from red.

Red nodded in agreement with the guy. "I like his album 'Wildflowers', best album by him. Hands down. Came out November 1994. Heard it?" Red nodded, mostly talking to himself at this point. Red knew music, he knew music well. Music was just something that was cool to him. Granted, he wasn't really a musician himself, a lot of his friends were. Red wasn't sure if the guy wanted to talk or not. If someone didn't feel like chatting, Red would baack off and go back to his place behind the counter. The unsocial ones were the worst. Yeah, so, you're not suppose to talk to strangers. Who cares? People did it on the internet all the time now a days. There was a whole show, Catfish, dedicated to it. A bit creepy, eh? oh well, it seemed like a fun time. He figured that the dude didn't seem to mind talking to him since he did seem friendly enough after a moment. "Oh cool, cool." Red nodded a bit "I've seen it a couple times. I only know, uh, Ryan Price works there. You got a lot of tattoos? He said with a mix of a statement and a question. Red had tattoos. Most of them had some sort of thought put into them aside from a couple drunk ones. If anything showed peoples sense of humor, their sick sense of humor it was their drunken tattoos. Thank god, not everyone got drunk tattoos. Red didn't really know Ryan Price but he knew of him. Then again, so did most people.

tony smirked, nodding as he did so. "one of my favorite albums. you don't know how it feels is one of my favorite songs, outside of petty albums." he smiled, then conversation shifted and he didn't mind he chuckled a bit. "oh yeah, jesus." he smirked at the nick name, ryan was such a dick and tony hated people like him but luckily he was ryan's boss so they're pretty cool. when he asked about his tattoos tony held his arms out and wiggling his fingers before, pulling the short sleeves of his star wars shirt up. he then leaned his head back, pulling the neckline of his shirt down to show his neck tattoo. finally, he lifted up his shirt showing his chest and his stomach and then turned around to show red his back. after pulling his shirt back down he smirked and sighed. "i also have some on my legs." he sighed. "running low on room." he laughed a little.

"yeah, i feel you." red nodded a bit glancing and flipping through some of the albums that were in front of him. thousands of albums in this store. red had a lot of music playing during the day. he just went through and played the albums he was selling. red laughed when he heard the nickname. no one really knew how "jesus" got started but it was a thing now. red couldn't really imagine working with that fucker. "yeah," he said "he's a piece of work.". that's all there really was so to say on the subject. ryan was a piece of work. red hadn't really looked closely at his tattoos "jesus, man. when'd you start getting them? twelve? red laughed a bit. "I like the owl though. Nice touch." Red complimented. Owls were probably his favorite animal next to seals. Don't ask why. They're just cooler than you will ever be.Red glanced at the guys knuckles and chuckled a bit. "Knuckle tatts, classy." Red nodded a bit.

tony laughed a little as he sighed, thinking back to when he got his first tattoo. "i got my first tattoo when i was fifteen, they're fucking addicting." he smiled and nodded. "yeah i love owls, my abuelita always told me the lechuza representa uno con la vida. which translates to the owl represents one with life." tony's first language was spanish, it's the language he spoke at home growing up and still speaks it now whenever he visits home; especially, when he goes to see his abuelita, his grandmother. when red brought his attention to his knuckle tattoos, he laughed and looked at them and re-read them for the millionth time that week. "gotta represent my clique." he laughed. "i'm a huge star wars fan, if you couldn't tell." he looked down at his star wars shirt and smirked a little.

"Ha, which ones your first?" Red asked, curious. He glanced up and down Tony's arms and legs. He couldn't imagine getting one so young. If Red got one really young, it would have been something dumb. Like a boy's name. Tony was too cute. He took a mental note of that, biting his lip slightly then letting it go. Hearingto his short story, Red listened carefully, smiling and nodding a bit. Owl's were probably one of Red's favorite animal. He always thought they were mysterious. "Hm, interesting." Red nodded, taking a mental note that he didn't know that. Red laughed when he heard about Starwars. "You know, I haven't seen all of them. I've meant to but I haven't." Red commented.
This guy was cute. Really cute. Red, silently, wondered if he was gay. If the guy just wanted to be friends that would be cool too. Red just wanted to talk to him for a while longer. He hoped he wouldn't leave soon. "How long have you owned the tattoo shop for? Red asked, re-organizing some music because annoying hoodlums who wore their pants too low and couldn't say 'everyday' correctly (errday, it's very annoying) had came in and fucked around. It was annoying but part of owning places was dealing with people who deserved a good smack in the face. Flipping through the CDs to make sure they were in order, he then glanced back up at Tony.

when red asked tony which tattoo was his first, he smirked a little. his first tattoo was the most embarrassing one, but it's how he got his nickname with his friends. he flashed his FOREARM to red and pointed out the turtle tattoo. " i was drunk, stoned off my ass and when the dude asked me what i wanted i told him a bad ass lookin' turtle." he sighed, shaking his head and putting his arm back down at his side. " so now all my friends, even some clients call me turtle." he shrugged, tony didn't mind being called turtle. in fact he actually embraced it, even his nieces and nephews called him uncle turtle sometimes. tony totally skipped over his comment about the little owl story he shared when he heard that red had never seen all of the star wars movies. tony worshiped george lucas and everything he's ever done, he was hands down on of the biggest star wars fans you could ever meet. he let his jaw drop, dramatically, and laughed. " you've never seen all of the movies? what? that's fucking madness. dude, i don't even care if you think i'm weird i am officially inviting you over my apartment whenever you're free and we're having a fucking marathon." he chuckled at himself, not caring if he came off as a super nerd. he wore that title with much pride. when the topic turned over to him owning the shop, tony nodded and chimed in. " i got an apprenticeship here when i was seventeen, because by the time my time was up i was eighteen. i started tattooing when i was eighteen, managed it at nineteen, and bought it four years ago when it was about to close." he shrugged, pretty impressed with his achievements since he never finished high school. tony had always been more into art though. " the old owner was like really fuckin' sick and he could barely walk around the shop let alone tattoo some one." when his old boss, and the guy who showed him everything he knew about olde co. tattoo, passed the year before it was heart breaking for him. but on his death bed he told tony he knew the shop was in great hands, so tony kept that on his mind everyday. it was a real confidence booster. " so how 'bout you man? how long you been over here?"

"I'm gonna call you Turtle then. I like the tattoo." Red laughed. It definitely was unique "Why Turtles? Red asked, raising his eyebrows. Turtles were such a random, small animal to love. He hadn't really ever seen many turtles but now he kind of wanted to. The most he had seen of turtles was in that one Miley Cyrus movie where she protected the turtles so the racoons couldn't eat them. Wow He thought watching Nicholas Sparks was so incredibly gay of me. He amused himself. "Fuck yeah. I've been meaning to see them. Can we watch Harry Potter too?" Red said. He was definitely a HP guy and he was proud of it. Why live in reality when that series existed? No matter how many feels it made him feel. Red listened to the guys story on how he got to where he was. "Dude, that's pretty cool. You were pretty young to be doing that." Red nodded. "Okay, well, it was kind of a funny story. I had been working and things were pretty normal. I wasn't working here though. I was working in another store that is now shut down. I didn't really have any intentions of buying any sort of store. One day when I was drunk, I signed the papers to buy this store. I found out a couple days later when I go a call when this guy was like 'I need you to sign a couple more papers' and I was like 'for what?' and he told me for the store I bought. I had no idea what was going on but I didn't want to look dumb so I met him and read over the stuff and thought 'well this should be an awfully fun adventure'." Red explained. That was his story of the store. "The store name was named by my little cousin. I said I didn't know what to name it and he insisted." Red laughed a bit.

hearing that red was going to be going along with everyone's nickname he chuckled and shrugged. "sounds good to me." and as he asked him why turtles tony shrugged. "i just, i don't know i've always loved turtles when i was a kid. favorite show was teenage mutant ninja turtles, saved turtles down by the creek where i lived at. i just love turtles." he smiled, looking down at his feet sort of embarrassed by his little rant about turtles but didn't let it show. when he brought up harry potter, he thought of his best friend diego and smirked. "harry potter is the shit, but that's gonna be a total of fourteen movies. let's reschedule the hogwarts because you need to be introduced to the force as soon as possible." he chuckled, quickly asking himself if this was considered flirting. he never really flirted with a guy before, he played back his smiles and smirks along with his lame comments. this could most likely be labeled flirting, and tony wasn't sure how he felt about it yet.
as red explained how he got crash bang boom, tony couldn't silence his laughter. "that's fucking awesome man. probably the best story i've ever heard," he sighed, to calm himself down as he shook his head still smiling.

"The ninja turtles were cool as fuck. Everyone loved them." Red nodded in agreement to him. "You saved turtles? That's awesome." Red smiled. That seemed kind of nice and sweet. Red wondered again if tony was gay. "Sweet. We will do it soon." He told him. He was excited. It should be fun. Red needed new friends anyhow and this boy seemed like a good place to start. "Yeah. I was kind of like 'what's the worse they can happen?' One of my friends tried to talk me out of it by saying that I could lose all my money and go homeless. That didn't really stop me since that would be a great adventure in itself." Red explained, he liked adventure. Most would be terrified by the idea of being homeless. Red was just the type to embrace life
